Chapter 1 – STANDARDIZATION OUTLINE

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Before engaging in any kind of concrete e-volunteering processes, youth organizations should have a clear understanding of the concept of e-volunteering and its parameters, and whether the specific internal performance elements (work format, type of activities, impact made, management procedures, services required within the scope of work etc.) and the type of contribution of young people involved in their work, allies with the concept of e-volunteering.

2. It is important for youth organizations which apply e-volunteering practices, to have a clear understanding of the competences required for the development of the tasks assigned to e-volunteers, identify any skills-gaps and provide additional training in order to overcome them. Followingly, it is imperative that they engage in appropriate quality management of their e-volunteers, as well as regular assessment of the impact and productivity of their performance, in order to reach the desired goals.

3. Clarity and communication are vital for successful e-volunteering practices. Youth organizations should adequately prepare internal procedures, develop structures and define communication channels among the people involved in these practices, but far and foremost ensure that those are well comprehended and applied in all phases of work.
