RECOMMENDATIONS
1. The contribution of e-volunteers should be acknowledged and recognized by youth organizations in order to enhance young people’s motivation to remain engaged, strengthen the bond among the team members, and between the e-volunteers and the organization, and offer additional value to the e-volunteering experience for both sides. This recognition may be formal (certificates, diplomas), non-formal (digital badges), informal (verbal or other expression of appreciation), compensation-based recognition (coupons, gifts, non-economic support) or peer-to-peer (among team members)..
2. Youth organizations are encouraged to set up internal assessment systems to test and recognize learned skills and competences of e-volunteers and make use of existing EU recognition or validation mechanisms for the acknowledgement of the achievements of e-volunteers during their e-volunteering experience. Additional recognition options by third parties involved in the work of youth organizations should also be explored and offered as accessory incentives for e-volunteers.
3. Recognition processes should be regularly revised, evaluated and updated by youth organizations in order to ensure that they reflect the needs of the organization and of the e-volunteers. The revision should be delivered two-ways with the contribution of both sides, in order to establish practices that are efficient and meet the desired purpose.
